I got rip off by this company. I sent termination notice to Central Security Group on Nov 1st 2016. As today Nov 29, I found out they continue to deduct money from my checking account on Nov 29, 2016. I made a phone call the customer service about the billing. The customer service replied. I was told my contract can be cancel anytime after 3 yrs as long i ask give a 30 day notice. I got call them central security tell me that i need to upgrade my equipment or it will stop working. In order to renew equipment, I am going to have to renewal for 3 yrs. I ask to cancel, i was told i am going to pay for automatic renewal for one year. This is so great of customer service. He never mentioned the problems everyone seems to have w/ canceling the contract-he said you can cancel at any time, didn't say a word about the penalty for doing so. Nor that if you don't it will default to an auto renewal which seems illegal as it for a year or more, not even the cable company pulls this on consumers. central security group representatives say one thing & when you decide to cancel you can have to pay up to one or more years after.. It is hard to believe this is legal in Calif as it automatically renews up to one year unless you cancel 30 days prior to renewal, if you miss=TOUGH S**t.... Like many others, I had a 3 year contract with Central Security Services and the contract amount was completely fulfilled. In my case, CSS did not even install my equipment. I owned my equipment which I installed when our home was built. We sold our home and I provided by telephone, email and mail, a notice of cancellation. Signed a 3 year contract and waited the appropriate 3 years to cancel since service has never worked properly and they can't fix it. Was told I waited too long to cancel and I had been automatically renewed for an additional 12 months. Apparently you have to give them 30 days written notice one month prior to your initial term end. If not, you are automatically signed up for an additional 12 months. I sold my home while under a contract for monitoring with CSG. I was glad to transfer them to my new location but they didn't offer competitive pricing in my new neighborhood. I informed the new owners about the service, but am not a sales person for CSG. 9months after selling my home and moving, CSG continues to debit my account for $55.15 each month. I have an home security system with Central Security. I have had nothing but problems with the alarm going off often. I have reported it to the local representative...HSI and national representative (Central) to no avail. They send a service person to "fix" it and then it goes off again. Be careful of this company. I signed up with them and was fairly happy for the first two years. After the initial contract ended without contacting us they "auto renewed" our contract for another year. During this period my family got an amazing opportunity to move overseas. I like the security service. However customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I find that the integrity of the company is very questionable. Being quoted a price and then getting a bill that was much inflated, does not give me that loving feeling of wanting to continue when my contract is over. Read more
